Michael Chen. I am a full stack web developer, always looking to work on interesting and cool apps that focus on the User. I have over a decade long experience working as part of a team and as team leader in the construction industry, in the toughest construction city in the world, New York City. I utilize that experience now as a web developer and programmer. I look forward to helping you and your team on your next project.

My Work:

A full stack School Management and Scheduling App created with Sequelize ORM for MySQL database,Express, JQuery, Bootstrap, and Node.js. Login authorization was done using Passport Local and Google Strategies.

The pandemic wrecked havoc in all manners of life in 2020. Virtual learning became the norm, even for a mixed martial arts school. When my school finally opened, kickboxing and jiu-jitsu class sizes were limited and scheduling became a challenge for my Shihan.

I worked in a team of 4 developers to create a school management app that allows teachers to schedule classes, set limits on number of in-person students, manage students' belt rankings, and allowed students to select day and time of classes to take, depending on availability. The app also includes a message board that students and Senseis can communicate through, post words of encouragement, and school information.

Weather Dashboard is a Mobile first, responsive web page using JQuery API calls to Open Weather Map to search for current weather and 5 day forecast for cities around the world.
